MOUNTAIN CHORUS FROG
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Why are we searching for
Mountain Chorus Frogs?
Not much is known about the distribution of this species, so sightings by the public will help us document areas where they can be found. Mountain Chorus Frogs may be more plentiful in our region than we once believed.
Whether you hike, bike, hunt, fish, or observe wildlife be on the lookout for Mountain Chorus Frogs. Make sure to also listen when you are outdoors, as you are more likely to hear than see these frogs. Mountain Chorus Frogs are most active from February – April and even into early-June. Be especially observant near wet ditches, flooded fields, mountain seeps and springs, tire ruts, furrows in plowed fields, and roadside ditches. Unlike most frogs in our areas, Mountain Chorus Frogs will call during the day as well as at night.
